Hanan Ishaq is a Yemeni female photographer and writer based in Yemen. In 2011, she was inspired to start her career photographing the revolutionary protests and rallies that swept across the nation. Soon after, she turned her lens inward to express her own visions and struggles through conceptual photography.
Finding inspiration in both the challenges and privileges of being a woman, through her work Hanan seeks to defy stereotypes by displaying the strength, resilience and power of women. Her photography is filled with raw emotion, giving the viewer a window into the vulnerable side wherein lies struggle and inner conflict.
Hanan majored in English education and literature. Since 2011, she has participated in many exhibitions both local and international. She is determined to continue exhibiting her works worldwide and hopes that wherever her art goes it will resonate.
